Western Bulldogs midfielder Caleb Daniel has signed a contract extension with the Club, keeping him at the Kennel until at least the end of the 2019 season.

After playing ten games in his debut season, Daniel played 24 games last year earning a NAB Rising Star nomination in round four (2nd place overall), and was a member of the Bulldogs’ 2016 premiership team.

"Caleb has achieved a signficant amount in his young career and we're really pleased to extend his contract by a further two seasons, List Manager Jason McCartney said.

"His professionalism and his determination to succeed are an inspiration to his teammates and we look forward to his continued development."

Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au on Tuesday, Daniel said it was an exciting time to be at VU Whitten Oval, and re-committing to the Club was a ‘no-brainer’.

“The boys have obviously gelled together, are playing pretty good footy and we’re really close off field too, Daniel said.

“The way we, as a football club, are able get around each other and love each other is pretty special to me so that’s why I’d love to stay around.”

The 20-year-old Daniel was taken with 46^th pick of the 2014 national draft and his elite ball use and ability to impact the scoreboard, has seen him become a key cog in the Bulldogs’ line-up.

Daniel averaged 22 disposals, three tackles and three inside-50s per contest last season, all career highs.
