The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation’s Leadership Project launched their second Camp Bulldog for 2017 last Friday, 31 March.

Camp Bulldog is a youth leadership camp developed for students aged 10-14, using the Western Bulldogs as a vehicle to inspire, educate and mentor young people to become social leaders in their community.

This year’s second Camp Bulldog saw students attend the Bulldogs’ Round 2 clash with the Sydney Swans, followed by two days packed full of leadership activities.

Activities included team building games, workshops and a visit to Victoria University Whitten Oval.

Western Bulldogs Community Foundation Leadership Project Manager, Adam Moedt said that the camp was an incredible success.

“All the students really enjoyed themselves this weekend,” Moedt said.

“Most of the students had never met each other before, so it was great to see them develop such close relationships so quickly, through their love for the club.

“Taking the students to VU Whitten Oval really let them understand the ins and outs of the football club and allowed them to realise the amount of opportunities within football”.

Participants from this year’s Camp Bulldog enjoyed various activities that encouraged their positive role modelling skills to flourish as well as developing their leadership skills and self-awareness.

Camp Bulldog provides a pathway to the Western Bulldogs youth leadership program, The Western Bulldogs Leadership Project, a six-month program for 15 and 16-year-olds in Melbourne’s west.

Following on from the success of Camp Bulldog in March and April, the Western Bulldogs will soon open nominations for the next Camp Bulldog in July.
