Caleb Daniel impressed again in 2017, demonstrating the same hunger for the contest which has characterised his brief career.
The 168cm midfielder added a further 20 games to his career tally, missing only Rounds 4 and 5 playing in the VFL.
Daniel's best performance of the year came in the Dogs' narrow loss to West Coast in Round 8 where he gathered 30 disposals, and laid four tackles. He backed it up in Round 9 against Geelong, working hard to collect 28 disposals and 10 contested possessions.
Stat that mattered:
He kicked a career high two goals from 26 disposals in a two-point loss to GWS in Canberra in Round 6.
What they said:
"I spent a couple of weeks in the VFL [early in the season] and was able to find a bit of the footy.
“I came back and started to contribute to the team as I would’ve liked.
“I want to continue to work on my contested side of footy, being smaller you’ve got to be able to go out there and stick it with the big guys. I’ll continue to work on that and get a bit bigger and stronger again. Hopefully that takes care of itself.”
