Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge may have some tough decisions to make when his match committee meets ahead of Saturday night’s clash with Richmond at Etihad Stadium.
While returning midfielder Mitch Wallis will likely need more game time before being considered for a senior berth, Beveridge would have been pleased with the performance of some of the other AFL-listed players in Footscray’s big win on Friday night.
While it was Wallis who was named best afield for his 34 possession, three-goal performance, defender Shane Biggs wasn’t far behind, picking up 35 touches of his own across half back.
Footscray coach Steve Grace said Biggs was ‘sensational’ in the Dogs’ 124-point win over North Ballarat.
“He showed a touch of class; some real speed, Grace told westernbulldogs.com.au
“He got some energy back in his game tonight and his attack on the ball was excellent.”
Lukas Webb (32 disposals, eight marks) continues to push for senior selection with another solid showing, his use of the football a feature according to Grace.
“Webby’s put together a good three weeks. It was good to see him capitalise on some of his kicking – he got his kicking game going tonight.”
Sharpshooter Tory Dickson, returning from an abdominal complaint, made the most of his opportunities, kicking three goals off of eight kicks.
