The Western Bulldogs will host the Sydney Swans at Marvel Stadium to kick-off the 2019 AFL season.
After being the away team for the last two seasons, the Dogs have been given the opportunity to host their opening round fixture.
They will play the Swans in the prime Saturday night slot, on March 23 at 7.25pm AEDT. The game will be broadcast on Channel 7.

The Bulldogs lost their Round 1 fixture last year against eventual semi-finalists Greater Western Sydney, but won their previous three opening round matches.
The full 2019 AFL home-and-away fixture is expected to be released this week, along with next year’s pre-season JLT Community Series program.
The Bulldogs’ first-to-four-year players begin their pre-season on November 5, with the full group assembled by November 19.
