There’s not a lot you can do after an 82-point Round 1 loss other than to get back to work and try and rectify what went wrong, according to Western Bulldogs ruckman Jordan Roughead.

The Giants controlled the game in the first term, though the Dogs managed to go into the first break within five points, but a seven goal-to-one second quarter put the game well out of reach for the visitors who now look to their first home game of the season next weekend against the West Coast Eagles.

‘’You don’t expect a result like that coming into Round 1,” a disappointed Roughead told westernbulldogs.com.au post-match.

‘’But we’ve got to front up to it and acknowledge that our performance is below the level that we expect, and come in on Monday and review the game pretty hard, review our own games pretty hard and hopefully learn some good lessons that will hold us in good stead for the coming 21 games.’’

The Dogs face the West Coast Eagles at 3.20pm next Sunday, April 1, at Etihad Stadium.
