Western Bulldogs forward Jack Redpath will be unable to play in this weekend’s VFL practice match, after the AFL ruled him ineligible to play at any level this weekend.
Redpath, who was suspended for the last two AFL games of the 2017 season and the opening round of the 2018 season, played in last Sunday’s VFL practice game.
Redpath was eligible to play in the JLT Community Series and the AFLX tournament, but was ineligible to play in last week’s VFL practice match, according to the AFL.
The AFL acknowledged the breach was inadvertent, with the Club having the belief that Redpath could play in a VFL practice match that was not for premiership points.
The AFL has determined that his suspension was not completed as required last weekend, and the final match of his three-game penalty will now be served this weekend.
