Australian musician and songwriter Missy Higgins will perform at the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Grand Final between the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions at Ikon Park on Saturday.

The AFL announced this morning that Higgins will perform her current hit single Futon Couch and crowd favourite Scar in the lead up to the bounce of the match.

Born in Melbourne, Higgins said taking to the NAB AFL Women’s Grand Final stage will be extra special given the match will be played in her hometown.

“I grew up as a huge footy fan, going to matches all the time, and at one stage I was even the only girl in my primary school footy team!  So I’m super excited and honoured to be playing the AFLW Grand Final,” Ms Higgins said.

The Ikon Park gates will open to the general public at 11.00am with bouncedown at 12.35pm.

The match will be broadcast live by the Seven Network with coverage starting at 11.30am.
