1. The Dogs won the contested possessions (171-149) and clearances (43-34), dominating territory and scoring seven goals from forward half turnovers.
2. As everyone knows by now, Jack Macrae’s 47 possessions equalled Ryan Griffen’s previous record from 2012. Simon Atkins (46 vs Fitzroy in 1992) and Matthew Boyd (46 vs Geelong in 2012) were next in line.
3. What is lesser known is that Macrae’s 29 handballs is now the equal third highest number ever recorded behind Boyd’s 31 in Geelong and 30 from Daniel Cross in 2009.
4. Lewis Young’s 12 one percenters was a game-high, while Tom Boyd’s eight was the second highest among the Dogs.
5. First year Dog Billy Gowers is not only leading the Club’s goal kicking after two more on the weekend, he’s now the eighth player in Club history to kick a goal in each of his first eight games, and remains one of only three players to have kicked a goal in every game this season.
