Rhylee West will start his career at the Western Bulldogs in the jumper his father Scott did, with the draftee handed No.14 guernsey for his debut season.
While Scott West will be remembered for winning a club record seven and best fairest awards in the No.7 jumper he inherited from club great Doug Hawkins, he did play 40 games in No.14 from 1993-94.
Rhylee arrived at the Dogs with pick 26 in last week's NAB AFL Draft, and the significance of the history of the jumper isn't lost on him.

Former club captain Luke Darcy wore the jumper for all but one of his 226 games in red, white and blue, before handing it to recently-retired premiership forward Clay Smith.
"(Luke Beveridge) rang me after I got drafted and said did I want to wear the No.14, which carries on from Dad's first couple of seasons," Rhylee told reporters on Wednesday.
"It's a great number, and taking it on from Clay (Smith), who was a good character around the club and key to the club's success in 2016.
"It's a great number to wear on my back."
Scott has long known his eldest son has football ability, but while Rhylee hasn't inherited his left foot, the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree when it comes to winning the footy.
"He told me when he was eight he wanted to play AFL football," Scott joked.
"He's been very talented at a lot of ports for a long time, but found his niche in football, and the competitiveness in him showed me he really wanted to make it.
"The year he had from a football point of view, this year has been as good a year as he's had, so he's really made a mark on how well he can play.
"He's really set a standard for himself "
Rhylee makes five father-son recruits on the Bulldogs list, and there's a chance the club could add another three Wests to their playing ranks in the not too distant future.
Younger brothers and twins, Cooper and Kobi, are already involved with TAC Cup club Calder Cannons at under 15 level, while youngest brother Levi is also a football fanatic and showing promising signs for a 10-year-old.
