Western Bulldogs stand-in skipper Ellie Blackburn has muscled into second place on the 2018 Shadworth Financial Group AFLCA AFLW Champion Player of the Year leaderboard after a 10 vote performance on Sunday against Collingwood.
Blackburn was a leading light for the ladder-leading Dogs, racking up 17 disposals, three i50s and four clearances, to get within five votes of Adelaide’s Chelsea Randall in first place.
Round 4 NAB Rising Star nominee Monique Conti also caught the eye of the coaches, picking up seven votes for her 12 touch, three mark performance and star midfielder Emma Kearney was awarded four votes, to take her season total to 28.
Every round, the AFLW coaches vote for the best players from their game. The coaches vote for five players, giving them a mark from 1-5.
The maximum a player can score is 10 (with five votes from both coaches).
