How did the media see Sunday’s 26-point win over the Dockers?

AFL Media (Ben Guthrie)

Brennan's absence from all but two games last season, due to a quad injury, robbed the Bulldogs of a go-to player in the forward line and they suffered because of it. However, the star of the new NAB advertisement, alongside Daisy Pearce and Darcy Vescio, sent an ominous warning to the rest of the competition on Sunday.

Her goals – a set-shot from 40m out, another set-shot from tight on the boundary and a spinning pirouette and snap – emphasised what the Bulldogs lacked last season.

Herald Sun (Lauren Wood)

All eyes were on Isabel Huntington as the most recent top draft pick pulled on AFLW colours for the very first time.

And she anything but disappointed, causing gasps and wide-eyes when she turned her Fremantle opponent inside-out on the wing with her first touch, kicking from the boundary on the opposite foot.

Pretty handy stuff from a debutant

The Age (Daniel Cherny)

Brennan was a dominant force in attack, kicking three goals. But it wasn't a one-woman show in front of a crowd of 8500, with Brennan ably assisted by fellow members of the Dogs' senior brigade, Ellie Blackburn, Emma Kearney, Brooke Lochland and Kirsty Lamb, while cross-code star and No. 4 draft pick Monique Conti impressed on debut.
