Taken with the Bulldogs’ first selection in the 2016 NAB Rookie Draft, Nathan Mullenger-McHugh played 19 games for Footscray in his first season at the kennel.
It was Mullenger-McHugh’s versatility that stood out as he spent time playing forward, back and at times pinch-hit in the ruck.
He kicked 9.8 goals for the season and averaged nine disposals, three marks and three tackles per outing.
Stat that mattered:
Standing at 196cm, Mullenger-McHugh will look to add bulk to his 82 kilo frame over the off-season.
What they said:
“I sort of came in with no expectations, so everything has been kind of new to me.
“I was thrown around a bit, playing forward, back and a little bit of ruck. It’s been a really good learning curve.
“I hadn’t played much footy in the forward line or back line previous to here, it was good to learn either end. It was a challenge but something I’ve really enjoyed.
“It’s something I want to try and pride myself on, that versatility, being able to play wherever is needed.”
