Four Bulldogs have been named in the 2018 Virgin Australia AFL Women’s All Australian Team, with Ellie Blackburn, Emma Kearney, Hannah Scott and Brooke Lochland all named in the final team of 22 at Tuesday’s W Awards.
All four players had an impressive 2018 season and made a significant impact on the Club’s on-field improvement and premiership success.
Both Emma Kearney and Ellie Blackburn dominated the disposals tally, averaging 19.0 and 16.9 touches per game, respectively, while Brooke Lochland led the Club to their record-breaking Round 4 performance, booting 7 major scores in the Club’s inaugural pride match, the most ever in an AFLW match.
Key defender, Hannah Scott also enjoyed a great season, leading the way in disposal efficiency for the Dogs at 75%, and was a key pillar in the Dogs’ defence across the season.
Lochland was also awarded the 2018 AFL Women’s Leading Goalkicker Award, kicking 12 goals for the season.
