The good

• Ryan Griffen continued his good form with 33 possessions, 8 clearances, 5 marks 7 tackles and 2 goals in a standout performance.

• Brett Montgomery told BulldogsTV that he was especially impressed by the boys dedication to the contest as well as their ball use under pressure. Along with hard running through the first three quarters, these were some of the key positives taken out of the game.

Area for improvement

• Montgomery believes the team still has to work towards sustaining their energy and momentum for the whole four quarters. A drop off in intensity in the fourth quarter allowed Collingwood to run away with the four points.

Player of the day

• Easton Wood’s breakout game saw him stand out as the player of the day. He collected 19 possessions at 79% efficiency, took 5 marks, helped the team out with 5 one percenters and made an impact on the scoreboard with a long-range goal from outside the 50m arc. A hamstring injury prematurely ended his game in the third quarter.

Dream Team Analysis

• Griffen’s on-field excellence was replicated on the Dream Team scorecard with 149 points, backing up his 124 point haul recorded against GWS.

• Also amongst the bet on ground, Daniel Cross scored strongly with 124 points through 31 disposals at 91% accuracy, 7 marks and 6 tackles.

• Brian Lake was another to standout against the Pies, showing extended glimpses of his All Australian form of years past. With 20 disposals, 9 marks and an impressive goal to his name Lake racked up 101 Dream Team points.
