The Western Bulldogs playing list is full of basketball fans, that’s no secret, but have you ever wondered who can really hoop?

Well, the Freedom in a Cage podcast has set out to find out once and for all who stands atop the basketball mountain, when Bob Murphy, and this week’s guest, Marcus Bontempelli chose their respective sides, NBA Draft style.

They now want you to decide who would win a one off, playing for your life, pick-up game.

Murphy, selecting first in the Draft, opted for size, and went with 200cm, 103kg centre, Tom Boyd, while Bontempelli also went tall with his first pick, settling on the now 207cm, second year ruckman, Tim English.

“Have you seen him play?,” Bontempelli asked the show’s co-host. “Great touch around the hoop, and dunks.”  Evidently the big man can ball.

You can listen here to the boys’ reasons as to why the took who they did, but easily the most controversial selection was Luke Dahlhaus as the Wizards’ point guard.

“I like his spirit and energy, Bontempelli argues. “He can’t shoot but he finds the gaps.”

Bob disagreed strongly: “He’s like Muggsy Bogues without the talent.”
