Kane Johnson - 1995 (Adelaide, Richmond)
Johnson was a two-time premiership player with Adelaide (1997, 1998) by the time he made his way to Punt Road ahead of the 2003 season.
The clever midfielder became a key cog in Richmond’s on-ball brigade and he was awarded with captaincy in 2005, and the Club Best and Fairest the following year.
He captained the Tigers until his retirement in 2008, finishing his career on 220 games.
Steven Baker - 1998 (St Kilda)
Baker became one of the league’s biggest negators. He began his time with St Kilda in 1999, playing 203 games over 13 seasons.
Baker tied with Luke Ball for the Trevor Barker Medal in 2005 and was part of the Saints’ 2009 and 2010 grand final teams.
Ted Richards - 2000 (Essendon, Sydney)
Originally taken by Essendon, Richards was a member of the Swans’ Grand Final team in his first season with the Club (2006), before winning a premiership in 2012.
That year he was awarded with All-Australian selection and was runner-up in the Bob Skilton Medal.
When he retired in 2016, Richards was considered as one of the best defenders in the competition during his time.

Brendon Gale, 1987 (Richmond)
Troy Cook, 1996 (Sydney Swans, Fremantle)
