Western Bulldogs AFLW coach Paul Groves says his team hasn’t yet hit its straps, despite an undefeated start to the 2019 season.
A three-goal second quarter blitz secured the four points against a disciplined Geelong outfit at VU Whitten Oval on Saturday night, after last week’s one-point win against Adelaide.
“We’re really pleased to walk away with the four points,” Groves said after the game.
“They were really good at their structures and their setups, and again we couldn’t get our game flowing that we like to.
“But again, we found a way. We defended pretty strongly when they had the momentum at different stages.”

Groves praised the efforts of midfield duo Ellie Blackburn and Kirsty Lamb, who had 18 disposals each and 13 tackles between them.
“They are high quality players. Ellie has probably had to go inside a little bit more and had to do a bit more of the grunt work,” he said.
“Kirsty probably doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. She was third in our best and fairest and I was surprised she probably wasn’t around All-Australian contention last year.”
The Bulldogs travel to Tasmania next week to take on the undefeated Kangaroos at University of Tasmania Stadium on Friday, February 15.
