Midfielder Josh Dunkley’s dominant performance against the Brisbane Lions has been recognised by the coaches.
The 22-year-old collected a perfect 10 – named best on ground by both Luke Beveridge and Chris Fagan – in the Bulldogs’ win in Ballarat.
Dunkley had 36 disposals – 22 of those contested – plus 11 clearances, eight tackles, five inside-50s and a goal, as the Bulldogs squared their win-loss ledger at 4-4.
He was one of five Bulldogs amongst the votes.
Defender Jason Johannisen (four votes), forward Sam Lloyd (three) and ruckman Jackson Trengove (two) also featured.
Midfielder Marcus Bontempelli added one vote to his season tally of 44, which sees him sitting in third place after round eight, behind Carlton’s Patrick Cripps (48) and Geelong’s Tim Kelly (45).
Three Lions also polled votes – captain Dayne Zorko (five), rising star Hugh McCluggage (three) and veteran Mitch Robinson (two).
