The Western Bulldogs will kick-off their 2019 AFLW premiership defence on the road against Adelaide at Norwood Oval on Saturday, February 2.
The AFL today unveiled next season’s AFLW fixture, which features seven home-and-away rounds in a two-conference system, after the introduction of new teams Geelong and North Melbourne.
In Round 2, the first of three home matches for the Bulldogs at Victoria University Whitten Oval, the reigning premiers will unfurl their 2018 NAB AFLW Premiership flag in a battle of the west against the Cats.
AFLW DRAFT: Five new Bulldogs arrive
In Round 4, the Bulldogs will host the Brisbane Lions in a Grand Final rematch, and in Round 7 they’ll face Carlton in the annual Pride Game to finish the home-and-away season.
The Dogs will travel interstate three times in 2019, with trips planned against North Melbourne (UTAS Stadium in Tasmania in Round 3) and Fremantle (Fremantle Oval in Round 5), in addition to the season opener against the Crows.
The Bulldogs will also play at Marvel Stadium for the first time, in a Saturday night home match against Melbourne in Round 6 as part of a double header.
To make the Preliminary Finals, teams must finish in the top two of each conference (A1vB2 and B1vA2), and the winner of each will go through to the NAB AFL Women’s Grand Final.
The Grand Final is scheduled for either Saturday March 30 or Sunday March 31 (Round 2 of the AFL season).
