This season's Sutton Medal count is arguably the most open in recent years, with the Bulldogs’ best and fairest to be crowned in an awards ceremony Wednesday night
The event, held at Crown Palladium, will celebrate the year’s achievements as a Club and acknowledge the individual brilliance of the players.
Amongst those favoured for individual honours through the night are All-Australian trio Robert Murphy, Easton Wood and Jake Stringer.
Murphy averaged 22 disposals from the half-back line and his disposal efficiency and composure would have no doubt caught the attention of his coaches.
Wood led the competition for intercept marks and averaged 17 disposals and seven marks, and is expected to poll well in his most consistent season to date.
Stringer continued his rapid rise to stardom with a standout season, and his ability to step up in big matches should see him poll consistently.
Mitch Wallis and Luke Dahlhaus both enjoyed consistent seasons, and took the next steps in their development.
The duo averaged 48 disposals between them and are also expected to pick up votes in crucial games.
Dahlhaus also caught the eye of the All Australian selectors, not missing a game in 2015, and named in the preliminary 40-man All Australian squad.
Marcus Bontempelli soared into the top 20 AFL Player Ratings this season, and backed up the form from his debut season in 2014 and is also tipped to poll well on the night.
Last year’s runner up and Doug Hawkins medallist Jack Macrae has a history of racking up votes, and after averaging 26 disposals again this season is likely to feature again.
Experienced pair Matthew Boyd and Liam Picken are also in contention, after both excelling in new on-field roles in 2015.
As a three-time Sutton Medal winner and averaging 27 disposals this season, Boyd will no doubt collect votes, while a career-best year for Picken should see him poll strongly.
Other awards to be announced on the night include Best First Year Player, Most Improved, Best Team Player, Most Courageous as well as VFL and women’s team best and fairest awards.
