Following a chaotic finish to the end of the 2024 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period, the Dogs have strengthened their draft hand heading into the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft.
The team were able to secure a first-round selection (currently Pick 17) and a second-round selection (currently Pick 25) in exchange for Bailey Smith and Caleb Daniel.
Speaking on the updated draft selections, General Manager of List Management and Football Projects Sam Power spoke positively on the opportunity the added picks would give the Club heading into what is touted to be a very strong draft.
“Pick 17 is a really good pick in this draft, it’s a really strong draft and it will give us some flexibility as well," Power said.
“Caleb’s a player you didn’t necessarily want to lose, but with the pick that was on offer from North Melbourne we felt it was a really positive result for all parties.”
The 2024 Telstra AFL Draft will take place across two days beginning on the 20 November.
Clubs can continue to exchange picks between 17 October and 8 November, and then once again during the draft.
