Hailing from country New South Wales, midfielder Matt Kennedy has found his way to Mission Whitten Oval during the dying minutes of the 2024 Continental Tyres Trade Period.
Originally starting his career with the GWS Giants, Kennedy would play 19 games across two seasons for the expansion team before being traded to Carlton during the 2017 off-season.
Over his time at the Blues, the 27-year-old fought hard to earn his place as a versatile, big-bodied midfielder providing valuable support to the team around the contest.
Kennedy also showcased his ability to provide an option in the forward line when called upon, kicking 50 goals in his 99 games in the Navy Blue including a career-high 16 goals in 2024.
He joins the Dogs after a four-way trade between Western Bulldogs, Geelong, St Kilda and Carlton.
What Sam Power said?
“Matt brings more experience into our midfield, with strong qualities as an inside ball winner,” Power said.
“At 27, Matt brings a wealth of experience within the AFL system and we expect him to provide a quality option for us from next season."
