The Western Bulldogs have gone down by 20 points in the 2024 rebel VFLW Grand Final at ETU Stadium.

Despite a spirited comeback which levelled things at the final break, the Dogs couldn’t get over the line in the 10.8 (68) to 7.6 (48) defeat to North Melbourne.

The first quarter was fairly one-sided with the Roos finding plenty of avenue to goal, but the Dogs steadied in the second term, slotting majors via Renee Saulitis and Mia-Rae Clifford to trail by four goals at the main change.

The Dogs emerged from half-time with all the momentum, outplaying the Kangaroos to keep them goal-less while adding four of their own.

Squared at 42-apiece at three-quarter-time, the two sides couldn't be split with one last chance for the Dogs to snatch the lead.

But ultimately it wasn't to be, conceding four of five final-term goals to go down by 20 points.

Skipper Dom Carbone led by example with 21 disposals and four tackles, while Keeley Hardingham battled hard in the ruck with 24 hit-outs and six clearances.

Tannah Hurst was next best with 15 disposals, while Jorja Livingstone was solid with 13 disposals and four tackles.
