Western Bulldogs midfielder Isabelle Pritchard says it’s been rewarding to spend time in Ballarat as part of the inaugural AFLW Community Camp.
Across the two-day camp, the AFLW squad visited 28 schools and the Grampians Health Hospital, while also hosting an open training and signing session at Mars Stadium.
“It’s really nice to celebrate footy with this community in Ballarat – it’s a really special partnership that we have,” Pritchard said.
“It’s always fun to see the kids and share football with them – obviously we love it and they love it too.”
Bulldogs defender Isabella Grant attended the Grampians Health Hospital visit on Tuesday, and echoed Pritchard’s sentiment.
“It’s just great to be part of a club that values the community so much,” Grant told WIN News Ballarat.
“We’ve got the Community Foundation which is massive with heaps of programs running out of Ballarat, but it’s also just great to engage with the kids here.
“It’s been really beautiful the last couple of days – especially here at the hospital to meet them and hopefully make their day a bit brighter.”
The Bulldogs have remained a strong presence in Ballarat since playing their first AFL match there in 2017, with the men’s team to host GWS at Mars Stadium in Round 24 before the AFLW team host St Kilda in October later this year.
