Western Bulldogs utility Caleb Poulter says the pre-season camp in Mooloolaba is providing a great opportunity for the team to bond, ahead of the 2024 campaign.
This pre-season marks Poulter’s first as a Bulldog – having arrived at the Kennel via last year’s mid-season draft – and the 21-year-old is enjoying every bit of it.
“I feel like we’re building something special here, and Mooloolaba is just another opportunity to get to know the boys on a deeper level – especially the new ones coming in,” he said.
“It’ll be really good the next week – I’m looking forward to it.”
Tuesday’s training session on the Sunshine Coast was rainy and humid; and while the weather hasn’t quite been what the team expected, Poulter said it’s been beneficial to train in different conditions.
“I think it’s just trying to be clean - obviously (in this weather) we’re going to make mistakes, but I think it’s how we do them and making sure the decision behind them is right.
“(The humidity) has its external factors too, but it’s been good.”
The Bulldogs will train again on Thursday 1 February, in between completing a range of team-bonding activities, skill sessions and beach sessions, before returning to Melbourne next Monday.
