Western Bulldogs trio Elisabeth Georgostathis, Gabby Newton and Isabelle Pritchard have been selected in the AFLPA’s AFLW 22under22 squad for 2023.
Georgostathis, 22, did not miss a game, enjoying a breakout year which saw her average 17 disposals, four marks, three tackles and 260 metres gained.
Her best outing of the year arguably came in round six, notching up 29 possessions, five marks and five clearances.
22-year-old Newton also featured in every match this season, registering career-best disposals (21) against West Coast, marks (nine) against St Kilda and metres-gained (407m) against Sydney.
The forward-turned-defender averaged 15 disposals, four marks and three tackles for the season.
Pritchard, aged 21, enjoyed an impactful campaign, averaging 16 disposals, three marks, seven tackles and three clearances from nine games.
She also set new personal bests in disposals (26 vs Hawthorn) and tackles (11 vs St Kilda), while kicking three goals.
If voted in the final team, it would mark a maiden selection for Georgostathis, and second inclusions for Newton (2020) and Pritchard (2022 - season six).
Voting is open now until Wednesday 15 November, with the final team to be announced on Wednesday 22 November via the AFLPA’s social media accounts.
22Under22, presented by Local Expert, is a fan-voted concept that recognises the best 22 players aged 22 and under for the entirety of the season (including Grand Final day).
For a player to be eligible in the squad of 44, they must have played 50% of the home and away season.
