Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli underwent minor ankle surgery this week.

Bontempelli recently developed some persistent irritation in his ankle, with scans revealing some minor bone spurs.

He has undergone a minor arthroscopic wash-out procedure to address the cause of the persistent swelling symptoms.

Bontempelli, who is scheduled to return for the pre-season with the full playing group in late November, is expected to re-integrate into full training before Christmas.
