Marcus Bontempelli has been nominated for the Hungry Jacks Goal of the Year.

The second of two final quarter majors kicked by the first year player, Bontempelli’s accurate snap goal from deep in the forward pocket came on the back of several repeat efforts.

The clutch goal broke the deadlock between the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne late in the final term, and handed the Western Bulldogs a thrilling six-point victory over their rivals.

Bontempelli was selected with the fourth pick overall in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, and has played eight games since debuting against Carlton in round five.

The 18 year-old received the Round 13 NAB AFL Rising Star nomination for his 22 disposal, one goal performance in the Bulldogs victory over Collingwood, before backing up with a season high 24-disposals against Port Adelaide in Round 14.
