Bulldogs re-sign eight
The Western Bulldogs today announced eight re-signings.
General Manager of Football, James Fantasia welcomed the news and said the Club was thrilled to secure the services of such a great group of young talent.
“We are delighted with the progress of these young players and the signings indicate a commitment and belief that the Club has a fantastic future’.
“These re-signings add to a growing list of players that will ensure the Club will continue with a strong and strengthening list.
“There is no doubt that we have seen these players really come to life this year - but the best is yet to come,” Fantasia said.
Jason Tutt - debuted last week against Port Adelaide and impressed with 26 possessions and four goals. Outside midfielder with a big tank and penetrating kick — picked at 31 in 2009 National Draft.
Easton Wood - 21 year old rebounding defender and exciting prospect, Wood has established himself as an important cog in defence with his run and carry.
Mitch Wallis - Inside mid who has impressed this year in the VFL as well as in his five AFL games. Has great leadership skills for a 19 year old. Father-son selection in 2010 AFL draft.
Jarrad Grant - Exciting and raw forward prospect, Grant is expected to develop into a key lead up forward. Has worked on his tank and will improve with another pre-season.
Tom Liberatore - Another inside mid who has established himself as a regular AFL player after some encouraging performances in 14 games. Averages 18 possessions and five tackles. Has been outstanding in debut year.
Liam Picken - Has played all 22 games this year and has been very good in defensive roles. Had a career high 27 possessions against St Kilda in round 12.
Tom Williams - Has taken another step forward this season cementing his position as key defender. Shows great athleticism for a player of his size and is expected to complete a full preseason after minor foot surgery earlier this month.
Jayden Schofield - Hard-at-it small defender that plays with flair and makes good decisions with the ball. In the mould of Robert Murphy. Will improve as his body develops.
