With 10 days to go until the Western Bulldogs’ round one clash against Geelong, we take a look at some stats involving number 10 – with help from AFL Media’s Gemma Bastiani.
10 – The number of Rising Star votes Rylie Wilcox received in Season 7
It was a debut season to remember for Rylie Wilcox, earning a Rising Star nomination in round three against Fremantle.
Registering 11 disposals and 252 metres gained to go with her maiden career goal, Wilcox was named the Bulldogs’ best on ground.
Just 17 years old at the time, she played 10 of a possible 11 games in season seven, averaging 10.6 disposals, 2.2 tackles and 1.3 clearances to finish fifth overall in the final Rising Star count.
10 – The number of contested marks from a Bulldogs’ trio last season
Earning her maiden All Australian guernsey in season 7, Katie Lynch clunked 10 contested marks while wearing the red, white and blue no. 10.
Both Gabby Newton and Celine Moody also finished the season with 10 contested marks and 10 marks inside 50 each, while Moody registered 10 clearances too.
All three played every game of the season.
10 – The number of goals kicked by De Berry as a Bulldog
Since joining the Club in 2018, after a stint with Melbourne in the inaugural season, De Berry has slotted 10 goals in the red, white and blue.
In season seven she added three goals while averaging 11 disposals, 2.8 tackles and 2.9 marks from 11 outings.
10 – The number of Bulldogs born before 2000
Of the 30 currently-listed Bulldogs, 10 players were born before the year 2000.
This group accounts for 30% of the Dogs’ total games experience, with four of these players having played 50 AFLW games or more.
