What can Stewart Crameri add to the Western Bulldogs this season?
The 190cm former rookie kicked 22 goals in his last eight games back in 2015, his marking inside the arc was elite, and the Dogs scored 55% of the time he was the target inside forward 50.
One thing’s for certain, Crameri should add further flexibility to a forward line that was last season dominated by small to medium size goal kickers like Jake Stringer (42 goals) and Tory Dickson (40 goals), and floating midfielders like Marcus Bontempelli (26 goals).

But the 28-year-old Crameri is more than just a forward according to assistant coach Steven King, and his versatility will see that he is again a key part of the Bulldogs’ system.
“We’re rapt to have him back, he gives us versatility and real power, both with the footy in hand but also with his legs and his ability to cover ground. So to get his flexibility back in our team, it’s a massive bonus.”
It’ll be 525 days since Crameri last pulled on the red, white and blue, and King says the plan is to get him involved in the play as much as possible, which may include some time up the ground.
“We’ve seen him kick bags of goals as a forward so he’ll play a lot of time [there], but hopefully gets up on the wing as well.”
