Ball magnet Jack Macrae has collected the most disposals so far, with 376 possessions and an average of 26.8. Hot on his tail though is skipper Marcus Bontempelli, who has tallied 375 disposals. Macrae’s best outputs for the year came against Melbourne in the opening round and Gold Coast in round 11, accumulating 33 touches in each game.

Ruck Tim English has enjoyed an impressive start to the 2023 season, highlighted by his dominance in the air with 94 marks. English has also won a career-high hit-outs (396) after 14 games, and is only nine marks short of his current season-high record (103 marks in season 2021).

Marcus Bontempelli has returned to some career-best form this season, leading the way for clearances, helped by a career-high 14 against the Giants in round eight. If he can continue travelling at an average of eight per game, the skipper could even set a new personal-best in the back-half of the year.

Despite missing the last two games with a hamstring complaint, Ed Richards’ impact pre-injury has not gone unnoticed. Recording 67 rebound 50s – including a career-high 10 against the Power in Gather Round – the Dogs will be keen to regain Richards in the weeks after the bye.

Liam Jones has been brilliant in his return to the AFL system this season, claiming 44 intercept marks from 14 games. Remarkably, he also held Joe Daniher (R3), Jeremy Finlayson (R5) and Luke Jackson (R6) goalless, and between rounds three and 11 only conceded three goals collectively. He will need to be covered in defence for some time however, after suffering a forearm fracture against North Melbourne.

Aaron Naughton has bagged the most goals so far this season, and is one of only four players across the league to have kicked a goal in every possible game. The 2022 Club leading goalkicker should beat last year’s tally (51 total) if he can continue to slot 1-2 goals for the remainder of the season.
