The key talking points from Luke Beveridge's weekly press conference.
On Tom Liberatore….
He should be okay – he’s got an important session now. It’s the last little tick off – but all the signs are good.
On GWS…
There has been some great history there. No matter who you play each week there is always something in the past that has happened. Our focus at the moment is to continually improve on what we are doing. Interestingly from when we played GWS last time they will have 10 different players and we’re likely to have 9. Each time you play there is a fresh set of faces. This Round 8 game is no less important than any other, they’ve been impressive. Our boys are looking forward to it.
On Marcus Bontempelli…
It’s par for the course with Marcus. He’s such an influential player, it doesn’t matter who we play they always have plans to steady his influence. He’s been prolific and if they sit one on him I’ll work through it. No one looks forward to these games more than Marcus.
On the right track…
We’re 4-3 and four out of the last five – we’re on the right track. There is plenty of improvement to come in us as there is in many other teams. Our focus is to continually improve in different areas as the season rolls on. We’ve played under the roof and in the wet, our scoring has looked good at times, our defence has looked good at times. We want a consistent performance each week.
On the road…
The focus on the road from an environmental and spiritual perspective is quite critical. It’s a great opportunity to come together again and put them on the back foot. New experience but the track record won’t be looked at.
On Tasmania…
A huge congratulations to the Tassie consortium and everyone that put effort towards that. It’s great that Tassie has now got a team – as look forward to them coming in towards the end of this decade.
