As we approach round eight, marking a third of the way through the 2023 season, take a look at who’s leading the way for stats at the Kennel.

Most disposals
Jack Macrae – 188

Ball magnet Jack Macrae has accumulated the most disposals in the red, white and blue after seven rounds, bringing his career tally to 6199 overall. Macrae is averaging 26.86 disposals a game this year, and collected a season-high 33 touches against Melbourne in the opening round.

Most tackles
Marcus Bontempelli – 51

Marcus Bontempelli leads by example when it comes to pressure, so it’s no surprise he has laid the most tackles after seven games. Averaging eight a match, he stuck 12 tackles against the Tigers in round four, breaking a new PB while going a long way to helping his side secure the win.

Most marks
Oskar Baker – 43

Just seven games into his red, white and blue career, Oskar Baker currently takes top spot for the most marks. He clunked 11 over the weekend against Hawthorn  - a career-best for the 24-year-old – and has already eclipsed his previous season high (40 marks) from 2019.

Bontempelli also leads the in-house stats sheets for clearances, with 57 so far. Of those, 24 are centre clearances from 78% of Bulldogs’ centre bounce attendances this season. He registered 12 clearances against Port Adelaide in Gather Round, which also equalled his career-best.

Most rebound 50s
Ed Richards – 46

Ed Richards has been impactful across the half-backline this season, and with 46 rebounds is well on track to topping his career-high 81 total rebounds last year. He is averaging 436 metres gained too, highlighting his run and carry out of defence.

Most goals
Aaron Naughton – 15

Fresh off a four-goal haul against the Hawks, Aaron Naughton has extended his lead as the Club’s top goal-kicker by a further seven majors. While the Dogs have shared the scoring responsibility this season, Naughton is still a key target inside 50, having had 26 shots at goal (two more than Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and 12 more than Rory Lobb).
