Cody Weightman has been judged the best Bulldog on ground in his return to senior football on Saturday night.
Weightman bagged four goals from 11 disposals and six marks against Port Adelaide in his first match of the season, earning eight coaches’ votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.
Tim English received two votes for his 27 hit-outs, 23 disposals and six marks, while Liam Jones polled one vote after registering 15 disposals, five marks and seven rebound 50s.
Port Adelaide’s Zak Butters claimed the maximum 10 votes.
Dogs’ captain Marcus Bontempelli remains in the top five, sitting fifth overall with 23 votes.
