IF YOU'RE a Western Bulldogs supporter, the month of September is brought to you by the word "download".

It's got nothing to do with computers or bandwidth, and everything to do with training loads.

'Download' – in this context – is a light day, and it's been in constant use over the last few weeks at the Whitten Oval as different players get the 'download' notation on their training schedule.

Tuesday was a download day for forward Daniel Giansiracusa as the team readies itself for a preliminary final clash with Geelong on Friday night.

But 'Gia' was quick to assure watching media that he was fine, and said it was just part of a standard week.

"Download – I trained yesterday. That's the new thing that we all say, but I'm fine, ready to go," he said on Tuesday.

"It's been pretty normal, to be honest. We came in on Monday and had our review and all that sort of stuff, and we've just moved on.

"Obviously it was a great win on Friday night, and the guys are excited about this Friday, and we can't wait to get out there."

The Dogs started the season in great form, but fell into something of a trough as the regular season wound down, but the win over Sydney on the weekend was a step in the right direction.

"The skills – we've been doing them for 50 weeks or something, we started on October 15, and it's more of a mental thing, I think, with the skill level," the 26-year-old said.

"All teams put pressure on you, and it's if you can handle that pressure and execute your skills well enough.

"Our intensity has to be up the whole time, and I think if our intensity's up, then the other things, in terms of the skills and stuff like that, comes.

"We've highlighted that probably since about round 20, that we have to take what we think are calculated risks, and take the game on, and I think we've done that.

"Obviously it came off on the weekend, and we executed pretty well, which was the first time in a while, I think."
