Polling Brownlow Medal votes isn’t an exact science but westernbulldogs.com.au looks at which rounds could fall in the Club’s favour ahead of Monday night’s event.

A number of factors determine who receives the three, two, one votes on Brownlow night but increasingly competitive performances in 2013 indicate the Bulldogs should put in an improved showing at next Monday's event.

Last year the Club amassed 40 votes overall but with three extra wins in hand, two All Australian selections and a strong end to the season, they are looking a more attractive prospect to poll.

In every win in 2012 at least two Bulldogs players were recognised for their efforts, with votes also given in eight losses.

This season the Bulldogs are predicted to poll votes in 17 rounds according to AFL Media's Brownlow predictor.

Pundits also have the 15th-placed club earning the most votes since the Club was in the preliminary final in 2010 (86 votes).

The Bulldogs are poised for a strong start in the first round, after a 68-point win against Brisbane Lions is likely to afford them multiple votes on the board.

While a scattering of votes could come the Bulldogs way in the interim, it is the Club’s next win against St Kilda in round nine that poses the greatest opportunity to move up the leaderboard.

The second win of the season prompted a break-even finish to 2013 - winning seven and losing seven matches after the Club's loss to the Gold Coast Suns – and could see a handful of Bulldogs players make a late charge into the medal poll's top-10.

Ryan Griffen and Tom Liberatore could challenge Melbourne’s best players in round 14, both commanding attention in the Bulldogs' loss with 30+ disposal games and sharing in 18 clearances and 16 inside 50s – while Griffen also kicked three majors.

Another opportunity could come in round 17 for the 27-year-old when he posted ten more disposals than any Hawthorn player and again adding two goals to his tally.

The solid run continued for the midfielder in the round 19 loss to Sydney, finding 41 disposals and ten clearances, while Mitch Wallis staked his claim in Brownlow votes finding 29 possessions and 13 tackles while keeping Josh Kennedy to just 18 touches.

While no players from the kennel have gained the tag as favourite, Sutton Medal placegetters Griffen, Liberatore and Will Minson could come into calculations at the business end of the vote count.
