Western Bulldogs forward Buku Khamis says the group relishes spending time in Ballarat.
The Dogs spent three days in the region as part of their 2023 Community Camp visits, rounding out the trip with an intraclub match simulation at Mars Stadium.
Playing predominately as a forward, Khamis finished with three goals to his name.
“It was really good to come down here to Ballarat and have a hit-out,” Khamis said following the game.
“Everyone’s getting closer to round one and really excited to eventually start playing other opposition teams.
“I was happy with the way I went about it – I’m really liking it up forward with the others and just being able to work together and compete really well.”
A number of schools and junior football clubs were also treated to player visits in the days prior as part of the camp.
Khamis said it was a rewarding experience.
“The last couple of days have been unreal. We’ve been out in the community doing school visits and clinics which has been really good,” he said.
We really enjoy coming to Ballarat so hopefully we continue to keep this partnership going into the future.”
The Bulldogs will now turn their attention to this weekend’s practice match against North Melbourne at IKON Park.
The first bounce will be at 1.10pm, and free to attend.
