The Western Bulldogs are this week mourning the passing of long-time Bulldogs fan and co-founder of the Club’s Ballarat Supporter Group, Shaun Kelly.
The 37-year-old died suddenly on Saturday, April 7 and is survived by his wife Sarah and his family.
Kelly was a well-known and much-loved member of the Ballarat community through his work with the Eastern Football League, AFL Goldfields and the Western Bulldogs.
He was a crucial part in the Club’s Ballarat project, performing important match-day roles at Mars Stadium and being involved in a number of the Bulldogs’ key projects in the region.
“We were all shocked and saddened to hear the news of Shaun’s tragic passing,” said Bulldogs’ CEO Ameet Bains.
“Shaun has been an integral part of the Club’s work in Ballarat and worked very closely with many of our staff. He will be greatly missed.
“Our thoughts go out to Shaun’s wife Sarah, their family and friends, and the Ballarat community in these most difficult of times.”
A memorial service for Shaun Kelly will be held on Friday at Mars Stadium from 2pm.
