How did the media see Sunday’s nine-point win over Brisbane?
Michael Whiting (AFL.com.au)
In hot and windy conditions, the Bulldogs gave the home team a lesson on how to control the ball. While Brisbane was often under pressure and sprayed its forward 50 entries, the Bulldogs were prepared to chip the ball around, be patient and wait for an opening. They finished with five less inside 50s, but were more methodical and always looked the better team.
Best: Lamb, Kearney, Blackburn, Bruton

If confirmed by scans on Monday it will be the Western Bulldogs star’s second rupture of an anterior cruciate ligament – it would be a huge blow not only for the Bulldogs but also the AFLW competition.
Huntington is considered the next big thing in women’s football, many believing her natural talent will see her surpass the likes of Daisy Pearce as the biggest name in the game.
The Bulldogs overcame Huntington’s absence to hold off the Lions, who tried hard to fight back in the final term but never seriously threatened.
Best: Kearney, Lamb, Blackburn, Bruton, Huntington.

[The Isabel Huntington injury] didn’t slow the Bulldogs down, though, as they took control of the game. Hannah Scott scored with a wind-assisted shot out of heavy traffic and Jenna Bruton scrambled another moments later to give the Dogs a 23-point lead at half time, too much for the Lions to claw back after failing to convert their chances.
If points were awarded for enthusiasm, then you can hand them to the crowd that braved hot and humid conditions to flock to the ground at suburban Brendale, in Brisbane’s north. At least an easterly breeze took the edge off the heat, but it also made life doubly difficult for the players who had to run around in it.
Best: Lamb, Kearney, Bruton, Blackburn.

The Western Bulldogs piled on four unanswered goals in the second term to set up the nine-point win over Brisbane at South Pine Sports Complex on Sunday evening.
Huntington kicked two of those goals in quick succession, twice outmarking her direct opponent.
While Brisbane kicked two last quarter goals, Craig Starcevich’s team left its run — in scorching 35 degree conditions — too late.
