Western Bulldogs recruit Liam Jones will return to the number 19 guernsey in 2023.

Jones started his AFL career as a Bulldog in 2010, donning #19 for five seasons.

He then wore number 14 at Carlton between 2015 and 2021.

It’s a full circle moment for the 31-year-old, who said he rapt to be back playing at the highest level after a stint with Palm Beach-Currumbin in the QAFL.

"I'm still pinching myself; when everything was processed and went through, I was over the moon,” Jones told afl.com.au the week he was signed.

“I can't believe I get the opportunity to play AFL again and to go back to the club that gave me that chance 14 years ago is pretty special."

"With the Bulldogs there was the familiarity and it just felt right for me. Apart from the familiarity and the love I already have for the club for them giving me a chance all those years ago, I believe the fit is right.

“I believe I can help this team and I believe in this list they have. I don't doubt my decision at all, I'm rapt to be back."

The #19 became available following Cody Weightman’s move to number three.
