Western Bulldogs draftee Charlie Clarke is elated to be joining the red, white and blue.

Taken with pick 24 in the 2022 National Draft from the Sandringham Dragons, Clarke said it was a honour to be realising his AFL dream as a Bulldog.

“I’m a bit emotional, but also over the moon. I can’t wait to get stuck into things,” the 18-year-old told westernbulldogs.com.au on Tuesday night.

“It’s just an absolute privilege to be part of the Bulldogs squad now. I can’t wait to get started.

“I wanted to go to the Dogs but I had no idea what was going to take place.

“I’m very grateful and just can’t believe it.”

Clarke is an energetic small forward who shot onto the radar following a seven-goal haul earlier this year.

His on-field personality has been likened to Sydney Swan Tom Papley.

“I love a goal, and I love a celebration afterwards,” he said.

“I love giving a little bit to the crowd.”
