Young people aged 13 to 16 in Brimbank will have the opportunity to meet new people, play a range of sports and get involved in other fun activities thanks to a new free, drop-in program run by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation.
Run in partnership with Victoria University Community and Brimbank Youth Services, the after-school initiative will run at the VU Sunshine Trade Campus Basketball Courts in Sunshine North, and will kick off on December 1st from 3:30pm.
Delivered every Thursday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm in December and Term 1, the program will allow young people from the area to make new friends, play sports including basketball, soccer and Aussie Rules, and learn how to cook healthy meals and snacks. Participants are welcome to attend at any time during the session, with no prior registration needed.
Western Bulldogs Community Foundation Youth and School Programs Manager, Hannah Singleton, is excited about the initiative.
“We are looking forward to running this program for the young people of Brimbank, providing a fun and safe environment for them to engage in a range of activities after school.
“Everyone is welcome, we’re going to have a lot of fun.”
