Daniel Cross exemplified everything it meant to be a Bulldogs footballer.

Taken at pick 56 in the 2000 National Draft, Cross was renowned for his toughness and work ethic as much as his ability to win the football.

Cross registered 210 games over 11 seasons at VU Whitten Oval.  He was awarded the 2008 Charles Sutton Medal and finished inside the top 10 of the Best and Fairest for 10 straight seasons, also finishing second four times.

Cross was a key cog in the Dogs’ midfield during three preliminary finals appearances between 2008-2010.

Having only registered 13 games in the 2013 season, Cross sighted a move to Melbourne.  He retired in 2015, after 39 games for the Dees.
