Scans today confirmed Western Bulldogs’ midfielder Ryan Griffen may only miss one game, after enduring a shoulder injury against Adelaide on Sunday.
Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie said the midfielder was cleared of a fracture and is expected to miss minimal game time from the injury.
“Griff obviously hurt his shoulder – we’ve had a scan of his clavicle and there’s no fracture there,” McKenzie said.
“He has got a slight sprain of his SC joint and we’ll expect him to miss one or two weeks.”
Draftee Nathan Hrovat, however, is progressing well as he rehabilitates his calf injury and could come into contention to play in the VFL this weekend.
“Nathan has been going well, he’s training at the moment and will have a full training week,” he said.
“[We] will be expect him to be able to play some game time this week.”
McKenzie said forward duo Tory Dickson and Shaun Higgins are progressing well in their recovery from ankle and foot setbacks respectively, after undergoing surgery last week.
“Both Tory and Shaun their surgeries went well last week and they are up and moving around now … so happy with where they are at,” he said.
Tom Williams has suffered another minor setback, experiencing tightness in his adductor during the VFL game on Sunday.
“Tom came out of the VFL game with a sore adductor on the weekend, he is getting scans this afternoon and we will know more in the next 24 hours,” he said.
