Young gun Rhylee West has signed a two-year extension to remain at the Western Bulldogs until at least the end of 2024.
Drafted as a father-son selection via pick 26 in the 2018 National Draft, West solidified his position as a pressure forward during this year’s campaign, kicking 11 goals across 14 games.
The 22-year-old has played 25 games during four seasons at the Kennel, showing plenty of promise and versatility.
His greatest output came against Hawthorn in round 15 this year, registering 19 disposals, six marks and three majors.
“I’m really excited to extend my time at VU Whitten Oval,” West said.
“We’ve got a great group of players and staff at the Club and we’re really hungry for success.”
“I’m looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season and improving on a positive year, continually trying to get the best out of myself.”
Bulldogs’ General Manager – List & Recruiting, Sam Power said the popular teammate was another important signing for the future of the Club.
“Rhylee took another really encouraging step this season and we’re excited as a Club about his future in the red, white and blue,” Power said.
“We love what Rhylee brings to the team, and look forward to seeing what else he can do with his opportunities at senior level moving forward.”
West joins Riley Garcia (2024), Toby McLean, Robbie McComb and Cody Raak (2023) as the latest Bulldogs to put pen to paper on contract extensions.
