The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation is excited to announce esteemed journalist and host of ABC News Breakfast, Michael Rowland, as an ambassador.
Rowland has been with the ABC since the early 1990s and has held roles as a current affairs, business and political reporter, where he has covered countless significant news events.
From 2005 to 2009 Rowland was the ABC’s American correspondent, reporting on the likes of the election of President Obama and the global financial crisis.
Since 2010, Rowland has hosted the ABC News Breakfast program, providing hundreds of thousands of Australians with the latest news every morning - including playing a crucial role in the reporting of the COVID-19 pandemic across the last two and a half years.
A passionate Bulldogs fan and western suburbs local, Rowland is thrilled to be on board with the Foundation, supporting its work in the community across the west of Melbourne and Victoria.
“I’m a great fan of the Western Bulldogs, I really admire the values the club espouses and the Foundation is very much at the forefront of that, and that’s the key reason I’m very keen to be involved,” Rowland said.
“I’m looking forward to engaging, as an ambassador, with as many communities in Melbourne’s west and Victoria’s west as possible.
“The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation reaches people that otherwise fall through the cracks, living happy lives, but for various reasons disconnected with Australian society.
“The great difference between the Foundation and other non-for-profits and charities is that it has this fantastic brand behind it. The Bulldogs not only talk the talk, but they walk the walk.”
