The Western Bulldogs Football Club has accepted the sanction imposed by the AFL regarding bets made by Club Director Geoff Walsh.

Walsh was appointed to the Club’s Board in December 2009 and at the time was unaware of the rules and regulations surrounding gambling in his position.

As mentioned by the AFL, the Club would like to stress that once Mr Walsh became aware of the breach he immediately and voluntarily contacted the Club and the AFL to address the issue.

The Club would also like to make it clear it fully supports the AFL’s guidelines and regulations surrounding betting on AFL matches and events.
