The Western Bulldogs have fallen three goals short of registering their first win of the VFLW season against Port Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts got out to an early lead, before the Bulldogs found some form late to register the final two goals in the 5.6 (36) to 2.6 (18) affair at ETU Stadium.
In an encouraging display, the visitors recorded more disposals (244-306), marks (53-78) and tackles (53-56), but just couldn’t close the Borough buffer.
Eliza Vale found plenty of the footy with 29 possessions and 12 marks, followed by Lilli Condon (25 touches, five tackles, nine clearances) and Maddie Marks (24, seven marks, five tackles, one goal).
Jaimee-Lee Morrow won the hit-outs (18).
The Bulldogs will enjoy a competition-wide bye this weekend for Easter, before hosting Carlton at VU Whitten Oval on Anzac Eve morning.
